Since 2011, the UN has proclaimed the World Day for the Prevention of Elder Abuse. This day aims to raise awareness, denounce, and intervene to counter this reality. It is also an opportunity to promote respectful treatment and to highlight all the resources available to this clientele.
Under the theme: Pour y voir plus clair, l'Événement mauve (To See More Clearly, the Mauve Event), participants will take part in a series of preventive and informative activities related to abuse and respectful treatment. The event will be held under the honorary presidency of Ms. Louise Lacoursière, a writer from Shawinigan, who has published more than 14 literary works while actively involved since the early 2000s with various organizations.
To conclude, a colorful musical performance will be offered by the group Les Dynamicks.
On-site, several support and prevention resources for seniors will be present to promote their services. Participants will receive free meals and snacks, and will also have the opportunity to participate in a door prize draw. Admission is free, and the event is open to seniors, professionals working with seniors, and the general population of the Mauricie region.

Le Festiglace de Pont-Rouge est le plus important festival d’escalade de glace au Canada, pour lequel la compétition de niveau professionnel attire des candidatures de haut calibre. Cette année, 24 athlètes internationaux et du Québec ont été sélectionnés, dont Hélias Millerioux, guide de France ayant remporté un Piolet d’Or en 2018, et Will Gadd, un athlète canadien ayant réalisé l’ascension historique des chutes Niagara en 2015. Ces compétitions seront d’autant plus une belle occasion pour le public d’assister à un spectacle sportif aux abords de la rivière Jacques-Cartier.

For the first time in Canada, meet the famous French professor Didier Raoult for the release of his book “Autobiography”. Professor Raoult is a world-renowned infectious disease researcher and specialist. Former director of the University Hospital Institute of Infectious Diseases in Marseille, he is famous for his positions regarding the treatment of COVID-19. His charisma and outspokenness have made him an essential media personality during the pandemic.
Professor Raoult will be supported by renowned guests including essayist Idriss Aberkane , French journalist André Bercoff from Sud-Radio, university researcher Patrick Provost, former researcher at the Biotechnology Research Institute of the National Research Council from Canada, Bernard Massie as well as Franck Pengam , founder of the magazine and YouTube channel Deep Geopolitics. At a time when open and civilized debate seems to be in danger, particularly in the current media, Productions France-Québec aspires to be a melting pot of respectful and constructive exchanges. This was demonstrated during the first series of conferences held on June 17 and 18 in Quebec City and Montreal on the themes of identity and digital currency.
Science evolves through dialogue, and this conference aims to put information and questioning at the heart of the discussions. On-site participants will have the privilege of asking questions to the invited personalities. This conference will also be accessible online, in order to reach a wider audience.
The program
On September 10 in Montreal, the conference will feature a debate between Philippe Gachon and Alain Bonnier, both PhD holders. The discussion will be followed by a round table co-hosted by journalists Julie Levesque, Richard Boutry and Jérôme Blanchet Gravel (Libre Médias), with the participation of Carlos Ramirez, independent researcher, Philippe Gachon and Alain Bonnier.
Events to come
On October 7 and 8, conferences will be held at the Sheraton Convention Center in Saint-Hyacinthe. This event will bring together the famous professor Didier Raoult, the essayist Idriss Aberkane as well as the journalist André Bercoff from Sud-Radio.
Later in the season, on November 24 and 25, we will organize another conference focusing on geopolitics. Expert speakers from France and Quebec will share their analyzes and perspectives on this subject.

On the program, the conference: Aging well without ageism, intimidation and mistreatment, by Mr. Yvon Riendeau social gerontologist, a musical show hosted by Mr. Michel Rondeau, singer saxophonist as well as the presence of several organizations offering services to seniors. In addition to free access to the event, each participant will receive an awareness kit!

Anxious to support and help seniors improve their quality of life; The Table Action Abus Aînés offers several workshops promoting the learning of tools and personal knowledge to face the challenges of old age.
Take part in our distance learning telegroups : Meetings that take place over the telephone. Group discussion allowing the development of strategies to manage and understand one's difficulties.
Two telegroups offered:
Building your toolbox to manage stress: Mondays at 10:00 a.m. - February 27, March 6 and March 27 then adaptation and the grieving process: Mondays at 10:00 a.m. – April 3 and 17 and May 1 and May 8.
Take part in our talk-workshops for seniors : In partnership with the municipal housing office of Trois-Rivières, these face-to-face discussion workshops deal with the following topics; Cultivate your well-being, balance sheet and life projects, anxiety and stress, grief, nurturing and building relationships. These workshops are followed by a social activity to create links . No obligation to attend all meetings.
